Dina is a native of Forest Hills Queens and raised in Queens, Forest Hills. She grew up there. She moved from Queens to Dix Hills Long Island before the end of her junior high year. Dina Meyer has two brothers. Gregory is her older brother and Evan is her younger brother. Her first experience in the industry of entertainment was when she did some modeling between the ages of nine and sixteen. She started her acting training with The Neighborhood Playhouse in New York, where she studied Sanford Meisner's techniques for acting along in conjunction with Ron Stetson, for about three years. Sandra Bullock and Michael Douglas were among the other actors who received such instruction. She was cast in Beverly Hills 90210, and was forced relocate to Los Angeles to take the lead role. After landing the lead role on Johnny Mnemonic where she did all of the stunts her own, she established her self as an actor who is athletic. It was through the agency for talent that was Matt LeBlanc that she was able score a recurring part in the TV show Friends.
